We deliver solo bagpipe performances at a variety of special occasions and events throughout Western Australia and beyond.
Premier Pipe Music is operated by Neil Walker who is originally from Scotland.
Neil is a vastly experienced bagpiper who performs at an elite level in the world's top solo bagpipe competitions and in addition is also a renowned Grade 1 pipe band player.
Neil was a professional musician in Scotland with the famous 20 times World Pipe Band Champions Strathclyde Police Pipe Band from 1995-2005. During this time, Neil enjoyed many highlights including two British Pipe Band Championship wins, performing on multiple occasions for the British Royal Family, including the televised Royal Variety Show in Edinburgh and performing with multi-Grammy Award winner Bonnie Raitt. In addition, Neil travelled worldwide to play at high profile events in USA (multiple times), Latvia, Sweden, France and Germany.
Neil moved to Perth, Western Australia in 2013 to continue his career as a professional musician and remains heavily involved in various aspects of piping. Musical highlights in Australia include competitive success in the solo and pipe band arena, participating at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo events in Melbourne and Sydney, performing alongside the legendary Sir Paul McCartney and playing at high profile solo recitals in Perth and Adelaide with Double Gold Medalist and 5 time world solo champion Roddy MacLeod.
Neil is one of only two bagpipe players in Australia who is qualified to compete at the elite level 'Former Winners' events for March, Strathspey and Reel at the top annual solo competitions in the world held at Oban and Inverness in Scotland.
In addition to his high-level skills as a solo and pipe band competitor, Neil has previously been invited to Singapore to undertake a significant teaching assignment and assisted the Gurkha and Singapore Ladies Police Pipe Bands with their preparations for a major event. Neil is also a sought-after recitalist and solo piping adjudicator across Australia.

I am available for solo bagpipe performances at various events throughout the year such as weddings, funerals, birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, 'Burns Suppers' retirals, concerts and corporate events. If I can help at your event please let me know!
In addition, I am available to conduct solo piping or pipe band workshops, solo piping adjudication and recitals across Australia.

Please note: The $400 Performance Fee for events within the Perth Metropolitan area includes unlimited direct contact with Premier Pipe Music prior to your event, a telephone consultation to discuss your event, and any music requests plus travel to and from your event.

Certainly! We welcome any requests you may have and there is no additional charge for requests even if music has to be specifically learned for your event. Please bear in mind however, bagpipes have a limited range in comparison to some other instruments so your request may not be possible. Please do let us know your suggestion well in advance of your event and we will be happy to discuss this with you.
Whilst we are a Perth based business with a focus on the metropolitan area, we will consider all requests including interstate events. Please note, if we are able to attend an event outwith the Perth metropolitan area, additional fees will apply.

Premier Pipe Music is mainly a solo bagpipe performance service and we do not currently offer regular lessons. If, however, you are a current player and preparing for a major event such as a competition and wish a one-off 1-1 session, this may be requested.
